This home includes an in-law apartment over the garage, generous main floor living spaces along a south facing window wall that looks out to a water feature, pool, and extensive gardens beyond. Meant to evoke the timeless understatement of Texas hill country estates, the material palette includes a standing seam metal roof, plaster exterior walls, and off-white limestone accents. Large gridded windows are used throughout to connect the house to the yard and views.. Steel and wood trellis elements add detail and provide shaded outdoor living spaces. The project has a net zero energy efficiency, and makes extensive use of natural materials inside and out.

A challenging triangular shaped lot informed the plan of this minimalist clapboard house with a nod to Victorian traditions. The main level opens to a south facing deck surrounded by trees. The upper level master bedroom opens to a wrap around deck with views to the Flatirons. Interiors are composed of subtle variations of white cabinetry and ceramics, with warm white oak floors and stairs. Walls are finished without baseboard or trim to further the minimalist approach.
